That sinking feeling…

Slightly off the usual Stonecot Hill beat, Transport for London’s finest towaway crews were taking good care of this driver’s vehicle this morning further up the A24 in Morden. I do hope that everyone concerned was insured. Perhaps it’s not quite as bad as reversing one’s car through a shopfront.

Aside from the precarious and presumably damaging nature of the lift itself, TfL are adopting their usual policy of parking their towaway truck in the middle of the road to remove a vehicle parked in a bay. The aim, supposedly, is to reduce congestion and safety hazards.

parking their towaway truck in the middle of the road to remove a vehicle parked in a bay.

AND don’t forget, risking £20,000 of someone else’s property to grap £50 and increase the penalty presumably for an overstay of say TWO minutes? Sort of grapping money without parting with anything, just like the oldest profession in the world.
